East Ryde

Introduction

Situated on the eastern bank of the beautiful Lane Cove River, East Ryde is peaceful, affluent suburb surrounded by stunning national parkland. A sanctuary just 12km north-west of the Sydney CBD, it is a diminutive suburb of which 53% of the total space is parkland, which gives some indication of just how lush and green the area is.

Known for its friendly atmosphere, East Ryde is a popular residential address for families. A relatively new suburb, it was first developed around the 1950s and ‘60s. Its homes are on significant blocks of land and many have now been modernised, with plenty enjoying lovely river and forest views.

The new Chatswood to Epping rail line has improved transport to the area, with a station located at North Ryde. There are plenty of recreational attractions nearby, including the Ryde Aquatic Leisure Centre. On Sager Place and Coxs Road you’ll find local cafes and shops for all of your day to day needs. However for more choice, the enormous Macquarie Centre at North Ryde is minutes away, featuring department stores, supermarkets and cinemas.
