West Ryde

Introduction

West Ryde is an appealing Lower North Shore suburb of Sydney with a buzzing community atmosphere. A great family location that’s lovely and child friendly, it’s located 16km north-west of the Sydney CBD.

Covering just 4 square kilometres, West Ryde has 10 parks encompassing almost 12% of the total area. There are six schools and two childcare centres located in the suburb, reflecting its family orientation.

Architecturally, West Ryde offers homes from a variety of eras, including freestanding Federation residences, Californian bungalows and ‘50s fibro homes. There are also apartment blocks from all eras, however new development has recently given rise to a significant number of modern apartment buildings.

The suburb is well serviced by transport, with its own train station on the Northern line and plenty of buses which take you into the city, Parramatta and Chatswood. It’s around the train station where you’ll find West Ryde Market Place, a major retail and commercial precinct.
