Introduction
Located on the northern bank of the Parramatta River, 17km north-west of Sydney's CBD, Meadowbank contains a combination of residential and commercial property.
Originally owned by surgeon William Balmain, the area was given the name Meadowbank in 1794 and subdivided in the late 1880s. Almost half of this tiny suburb is devoted to parkland, most of it found along the riverfront, providing a wonderful recreational haven.
The suburb’s population has grown steadily over the past decade, with the development of plenty of contemporary apartments, much like neighbouring Rhodes which sits directly across the river from Meadowbank. It’s easily accessible via public transport, with its own train station and ferry wharf, and also enjoys close proximity to Rhodes shopping and dining.
